HELLO EVERYONE !!!

Today I'll share another fruity card I made with 

the Preserve Cart - I really love this cart BTW !!!

The challenge stated to use a button or hemp in your design , I did both :) The chip board buttons comes from a prize pack I won over at Trish's blog  1/3 Chicklet, Thanks Trish !  I'm really pleased with how it came together. I'm tempted to do 5 more and make a gift set out of it. What do you think ?

Since the base card is black I lined the inside of the card with 2 pieces of white card stock and punched the corners with one of my favorite MS punches. I forgot to take a picture of that. 

Maybe I'll do a video ??? :)

A TOTAL SCRAP LIFT and LAST CALL

Happy Monday Everyone !

I had to come up with a quick little "thank you gift" for eight super nice ladies who helped me learn the ropes at my recent Medical Assisting Externship. I might have mentioned that although I am a part time hair stylist, due to having asthma I cannot work around the chemicals anymore, so I decided to go back to school and learn another skill. I still do just haircuts in my home salon but I think I may try to find a job as a Medical Assistant to help PAY FOR THIS CARD MAKING ADDICTION I NOW HAVE !!! LOL !!! I just graduated a few days ago and I wanted to thank these ladies for helping me in the process.

I was searching for some ideas when I remembered that I had seen the cutest ever little purse card HERE @ My Creative Time with Emma. So I decided to "scrap lift". Check out her design and video! Thanks Emma for the idea ! 

I put some hershey's kisses in a cello bag and stapled them to the inside. They came together super fast and I think the ladies 

will love them :)

So I must be in a nostalgic mood lately as my mind seems to drift back to when I was a kid. Must be all this cutting, and coloring, and gluing...maybe that's why we all love paper crafting so much...it makes us feel like kids again!  

How many of you remember "A Barrel Full of Monkeys" ? Well this is where my mind went as came up with the design for this cute little card ! And can you believe it...more orange paper ! Go figure ! Oh, and I tried some major doodling here, it was fun :)

DUCKIE CARD and "ME" CHALLENGE

Today I challenged myself to come up with a card design using a stack of orange stampin up paper I had laying around. Who knew orange could be sooo cute? ! I liked it so much I made 6 of these! 
I used some techniques I've learned from watching other blogs and videos ! Thanks to all you "teachers" out there who share their talents and ideas !  I've learned so much from all of you :) I'm trying to pay it forward through my blog and videos :)

CARDS TV CRICUT CARD CH # 24

Mary over at Cardz TV has 2 challenge blogs that I recently discovered. I'm trying to do as many challenges as I can, I think they are really helping me develop better designing skills and it's fun to see what everyone comes up with :) Plus, there are prizes :)

This challenge stated make a card using 3 circles from any cricut cart. Easy, right? For some reason this one kept me scratching my head, go figure! But I think in the end I pulled it off... I think ?

I just finished my first boxed gift card set ! I'm really happy with it !

Thank you Momo over at Made By Momo's Blog. She did an awesome video on how to make a box that fits (6) A2  size cards and envelopes perfectly using the Martha Stewart Score Pad.

Thanks Momo !!! 

I got brave and decided to cut a window on the front of my box using my Gypsy, Cricut, some clear acetate sheets. The window shape is from the Gypsy Wanderings cart. The Flower is from the Forever Young Cart.

I will try and post a video later of just how I did that.

I made this card for Peachy Keens latest Challenge # 28. I think this is my first challenge with Peachy Keen, so I'm excited. They have the cutest stamps and I'd love to have more ! For this project I used The Critter Faces Set PK - 754 on both the little lamb 
and the moons.

Episode 5 My First Gypsy Project.wmv

I finally felt well enough...I've been feeling under the weather lately, to create my first gypsy project and post a video here on my blog. Believe me, it's no fun to trying to craft and much less film a video when you are feeling dizzy and nauseous ! Anyways..here is my first attempt at designing and creating a project using my gypsy ! Well once again I have to say I have the sweetest husband! This is what I got for an early Mother's Day gift from him.

CH # 9 TAKE SHAPE

For this challenge you had to utilize a shape, so I decided to make this little fish bowl card. It reminded me of being a kid and always having a goldfish bowl. The gold fish never lived very long, but luckily the 5 and dime was close by and I could always get a new fishy friend :)

CH # 12 CRITTER-LICIOUS

THE LAST CHALLENGE! I can't believe I did all 12 ! I'm not posting them in order, since I didn't do them in order, but you get the gist :) Anyway, you had to make a critter. Since I just received my Create A Critter Cart it sure came in handy!  It's an awesome cart, wish I had ordered it sooner :) Oh well, better late than never :)

WOW WEE!!!

My hubby brought in the mail and GUESS WHAT !!! I got my Create A Critter, Forever Young Carts that I recently ordered ! And...I got a free bonus cart, Love Struck ! WITH A CHILD IN MIND

CH # 6 I think...Oh my goodeness! I've lost count ! Make something with a child or for a child . OH..how I wish I had my 2 little grandchildren close by, especially my 3 1/2 year old grandson Ethan. He would have loved to work on this project with me :) But instead, I decided to make a picture frame for them. My daughter's  nick names for her 2 little ones are the little monkey and little duckling. So this project goes out to them :)

APPRECIATION (for a teacher or anyone)

Challenge # 5 was to make A Teacher Appreciation Card card or gift. Surprise, Surprise this cute little rounded gift bag or purse was ALSO from the Plantin School Book Cartridge ! Who knew ?! I guess I'll be pulling out this cart more often :) 

Since my kids are all grown and out of school,  I thought I'd just make this for someone really special who I REALLY REALLY Appreciate. Wouldn't you like to know who that is ??? Well, you may just be getting this little token of appreciation from me :)

The # 4  Challenge in the MPS's National Scrapbooking Day 

was one for pause...

You were supposed to use your least favorite Cricut Cart. Well, mine was definitely "Plantin School Book" ..such a boring cartridge, I thought...what could I possibly do with it?  Well, I had really never noticed this cool "city scape cut" in it, so I cut it out with a shadow and it made me think of my son Jonathan who is serving a 2 years mission for our church in Chicago ! He'll be home in 6 months, I CAN'T WAIT TO GIVE HIM THE BIGGEST HUG EVER...but in the meantime, I will send him this little card from his dear old mom just before he heads for home :) 

The card is cut to fit a legal size envelope.

learned how to do it...

Using Scraps

Hello Again !

For MPS's challenge # 2 you must use scraps ! Well, I'm also a quilter and quilter's LOVE SCRAPS!  So here's my interpretation of a quilter's card :) This was really fun for me, I felt like I was at the sewing machine too :)

 

DEAR MOTHER

Good Morning Everyone ! 

Happy National Scrapbooking Day !

Here's my entry for MPS's "Dear Mother Challenge "

Wow! I even challenged myself - no ribbon and no 

white card stock !

Details:

Lime Green Base Card - 5 1/2 x 4 1/4

Decorative Paper - 5 1/4 x 4

Quarter Circle Accent Border -this starts out as a circle and you will cut it down later. Use "Accent Essentials Cart" Accent #6 cut at 5 1/2 shadow and then regular cut using 2 different colors. Glue together and place at lower left corner, trim the excess that extends past card borders.

Layered Flower "Accent Essentials Cart # 24s. Cut 3 different colors, (1) with shadow feature 3 1/2 (2) regular at 3 1/2 and (3) at 2 1/2, attach with brads and slightly curl upward like the petals of flowers.

Add sentiment to upper right corner. Enjoy :)
