Hello Everyone !
I just discovered that at
you are invited to share your top ten cards picks of 2010.
HOW FUN!
My blog anniversary is in March so I haven't even been posting cards for a year and it was actually really hard to chose just 10 cards! It's nice to know that as I look back on the cards I've made, they still give me a chuckle or a smile :)
That's why we craft, RIGHT ?! It's fun :)
If you want to join the HUGE BLOG HOP...at last look there were over 100 blogs!.... Just click on over to

1. The camera card I made for my husband....I finally was able to buy him the camera he's always wanted :)

FLAN RECIPE

EASY FLAN de ABUELA (grandma) ISABELITA

In a small sauce pan, make a caramel topping by taking 1 CUP OF SUGAR over very low heat, stirring slowly as the sugar melts and caramelizes. The sugar will turn a beautiful amber color.
Pour the caramel into a the mold of you choice. I recommend a  round glass pyrex type dish, or if you are giving it away, a round aluminum container (sold at the Dollar Tree). Before the caramel hardens tilt the dish all around to distribute the caramel all around the bottom and sides of the dish. Let set will you make the filling.

IN A BLENDER :
1 can evaporated milk
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1/4 ts salt
1 tbls vanilla
4 eggs yolks
2 whole eggs

Blend until  just mixed thru, don't whip or over blend. Pour mixture into your prepared caramelized dish.

Bake at 350 degrees BANO De MARIA STYLE ( in a water bath). This means you place your dish in a larger oven safe dish or pan fill with about 1 too 2 inches of water. BAKE 45 minutes or until you poke it with a fork and the fork comes out clean. Depending on you oven it could up to 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes.

Remove from oven and let cool. Refrigerate til chilled thru, then scrap the sides all around the edges with a knife and using another larger plate, carefully invert it.

THERE YOU HAVE IT.... A CUBAN STYLE FLAN ...YUMMIE :)

SNOWMEN LOVE FLAN and Cubans too

HAPPY TUESDAY EVERYBODY !!!
Can you believe Christmas is in less than 5 days ?!
I'M SOOO EXCITED !!!
For me, Christmas means a lot of things...celebrating the birth of Christ, service, giving...but what I love MOST is being with
MY FAMILY! My kids, grandkids, mom and mother in law will all be here for this year's Conde Family Christmas Celebration - all 11 family member!...plus my 2 doggies :)
Since this might be my last post of 2010, I wanted to share with you one of my favorite holiday treats to make and give away as gifts, along with one of the cards that go along with it.
My HOLIDAY FLAN presentation includes some cute Christmas towels wrapped with a pretty bow and tag. The lucky recipients are my dear friends and some lucky neighbors :)
I'm a cuban through and through and the holidays wouldn't be complete without a homemade flan. It's surprisingly simple to make and the round aluminum containers at the dollar store make great
" bake and take" dishes.
If anyone would like the recipe, let me know :)

TO ALL MY WONDERFUL BLOGGY CRAFTY FRIENDS...MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!

Now on to today's project !
I decided to make a "mini christmas cookbook" with my favorite holiday gathering recipes! I got the idea because lately I've been obsessed with my crockpot and cooking slow, so I thought a cookbook in the shape of a "slow cooker" or "pot" would be so cute! It is my VERY FIRST mini book and I must admit, I was very intimated. But with some perseverance and help from some of you "mini album experts", I'm super happy with how it came out! It will fit perfectly into my daughter in law's and daughter's stockings this year. Check out the video if you want more details :)

Check out the video tutorial for more details !

Details:
~Pot cut w/ Shadow feature @ 5 inches. For front and back cover use cereal cardboard, cut one flipped for mirror image, also cut with craft cardstock for inside page.
~Handle & Top cut @ 5 inches
~Words cut @ 1.5
~ Pocket cut at 2.5 inches and scalloped on one side, glue and trim to size
extras: white sazura gel, brown and black ink, chip board buttons, twine, dcwv patterned paper, craft cardstock, cereal boxes.

BLOG CANDY ALERT ! Just leave a comment here AND a way to get a hold of you and WIN and $10 gift card to Micheal's !

KACHOW!

Happy Wednesday Everyone !
I wanted to share this super cute card I made for my grandson Ethan. He absolutely loves the movie "Cars" so naturally the "Cars" Cart was on my wish list and I finally purchased it about 2 weeks ago! I originally planned on making little Ethan a "cars" inspired card every week and mail it to him, but can you say...
MANY LITTLE PIECES ! Oh my heck, I thought the cuts would never end...but then again...isn't it a grandma's job to spoil their grandchildren, hehe :)

ELF MONEY

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE !
Today I'd like to share a special holiday card that I made for my three grown children. When each of my children turns around 18 years, we start a new tradition where Santa sends them what we call "Elf Money" and he always sends it around Thanksgiving time. This way they can become their own "ELVES" and shop for things they want or need and take advantage of all those wonderful after Thanksgiving sales ! Of course they'll still be some small gifts from Santa under the tree, but at our house, Santa needs all the extra Elf recruits he can get during the holiday! Our kids really love and appreciate this holiday tradition and this year, with my cricut , we were really able to make the presentation of the Elf Money special!
Hope you enjoy the video and pictures ! OOO...and I almost forgot to mention... I used Wobbles !

Original Poem written by my sweet husband with a little help from me :)
Custom 5 inch envelope made with the MS Score Board, video tutorial to follow :)

Details :
2 Scalloped Circle cut @ 4.5 inches, welding and cut together for the Base Card, Natural CardStock
Layer cut @ 4inches from patterned paper from DCWV
Elf cut @ 3 inches, attached with Wobbles
Sakura Gel Pen for dots and doddling
Red Ribbon from Micheal's
12 x 12 Red Cardstock for envelope and White Cardstock for inside poem cut @ 4 inches.

"A Thanking We Will Go" Blog Hop

WELCOME EVERYONE !
I'm so excited to be a part of today's blog hop hosted by the super talented Jess @ Kinderstampo ! Did you just land from her blog ?
If not, make sure you start and end the hop there so you don't miss a thing :)

By now you have probably figured out that our hop is all about "being thankful" ! If your thankful list is anything like mine, it's never ending, but I would say the number one thing I am thankful for is my FAMILY and that's what this project is all about!
I had this idea to make a "quilt like walling hanging " using patterned paper, frames and family photos and at the top, adding a vinyl cutout that said "Family". The idea has been in my mind's eye for a while and it turned out exactly as I pictured it!
I'm so happy to finally have it up on my wall and have the opportunity to share it with you !
I have a video, pictures and details to tell you all about it...

details :
16 Malma Frames from Ikea, Mod Pog for decoupaging patterned paper to frame, Clear Acrylic Sheets to use in lieu of glass, Scotch tape to tape pictures in place at the back of the frame, Double sided tape to hang frames to wall, also helps keep frames straight rather than nails.
"Vivaldi" font and my SCAL software to design the "Family" vinyl cut out.

I hope you enjoyed my project as much as I enjoyed
putting it together.
Are you ready for some BLOG CANDY ?
 I'm giving away a
$10 GIFT CERTIFICATE TO MICHEAL'S OR JOANN'S

Episode 16 : My Craft Room Re Visited and a New Camera

Hello Everyone :)
Well I finally finished re doing the craft. And as promised...
a video reveal.
I'd love to hear your comments or even some
suggestions to make it even better !
AND...I finally found a camera ! Halaluyah ! It's not the fanciest model, but it does the job. I was looking for an inexpensive combo camera that would would take great pictures and well as  HD 720 video. I had a flip video before, but it just wasn't my favorite. My kodak was a great price at $129 including a 4G memory card. The recording sound quality isn't the best, so I just voice over the narration while I'm editing the videos. I've had kodak cameras before and I've always enjoyed their user friendly approach to picture taking as well as their ease in downloading
options to youtube and facebook.
I'm a happy camper or should I say "crafter"...hehe.
More pics and videos are on their way :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JON !!!!

Hello Everyone :)
Today I wanted to show you the card I made for my son Jonathan. He'll be 21 years old on Monday ! HOW DID THIS HAPPEN ??!!! He's the baby of the family and already a young man ! WOW !
Since I had to come up with a guy card, I got the idea of using a Halloween theme since his birthday is in October and I remembered that for his 1st birthday we did a costume party and it was so much fun. He was such a cute baby dressed up like a pumpkin :) I even made the costume myself. He actually won 1st place at out church Halloween party that year wearing that costume :) I'm so blessed to be his mom and I really hope he likes the card :)
Most of the cuts are from the Paper Doll Cart. The sentiment frame is from Gypsy Wanderings. I came up with the sentiment myself, pretty clever, huh :)  And I used my Gypsy to center the sentiment exactly in the frame space. I did a lot of inking and chalking since I couldn't add too many other embellishments
being a guy card and all.
It's a larger card at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.
