Shaped Layers cute at apprx. 4.75 from Elegant Edges
Original Sentiment printed from computer
Pink and Yellow layers to frame sentiment

Lacey Days and A Winner

 ~ Hi Everyone ~
I hope you had a fabulous Easter weekend and are enjoying the coming of Spring! It's one of my favorite seasons.
I am having a blast visiting with my children. It's such a treat when they come home in between college semesters. We have so much fun together - I LOVE MY FAMILY!
My daughter in law, Sheridan informed me that she had found a blog with a lovely lace skirt on it and that she would like to brush up on her sewing skills -WELL! First of all, she said two MAGIC WORDS and practically in the same sentence - BLOG and SEWING! Needless to say, we couldn't make it the fabric store fast enough! LOL!
Thanks to Leanne's Blog - Elle Apparel for sharing her fun Lacey Skirt tutorial. We tweaked the design a bit and went with only one seam with a zipper  in the back, a drop waist with darts, and a small back slit. YAY! It turned out just as we imagined it ! Sheridan even got to wear it for church on Easter Sunday!

the ingredients
 lace placement: crucial
every lace in it's place :)
 sew down carefully
she's ready for the run way

a little wrinkly from sitting thru church, but other wise it lays beautifully

With all the festivities going on, I almost forgot to choose a WINNER from last weeks GIVEAWAY!

 CONGRATS goes to ...
JESSICA!
She said... "your card is super sweet! TFS. Watched your tutorial on the glass block...thanks so much for sharing. I love the idea and can't wait to try one myself :)"

It's Earth Day

~Hi Everyone~
Today I'm joining my sweet friend Gaby for a dual celebration! It's her BIRTHDAY and EARTH DAY! How exciting is that?! I'm your last stop today, so if you missed any of the celebration make sure your start from beginning at Gaby's Blog.

I have 2 PROJECTS to share...
Gaby's fav color is green and earth day reminded me of how awesome GOD'S creations are. Isn't it amazing how all the elements of the earth work together in perfect harmony? Like how the birdies know the danger of frost is gone and they can fly back home from their winter havens. My birdie just arrived with some birthday greetings :)

Next, I wanted to share a quick project I put together a few days ago to celebrate the arrival of Spring! Another of God's amazing gifts. When all is renewed, flowers are blooming, birdies are chirping and the kids in the neighborhood start breaking out their bikes and I start breaking out my flip flops LOL! I LOVE SPRING!
Its a glass block and it's so easy to decorate.
Check out my "how to" video!

I have some BLOG CANDY up for grabs! Just leave a comment on this post with your contact info and I'll choose a winner Saturday night :)

Home Sweet Home

 ~ Hi friends ~
I know, I know...I've been MIA for a few days! This is why...
My beautiful family !
I think most of you know that most of my kids are still in college pursuing their degrees and they don't live close to us. So when college semester is over, they all come home to California for some R&R and family time :)  Ryan, my son in law is a therapist and pursuing his PHD in Counseling Psychology at the University of Utah. My daughter Lisset graduated with her bachelors in Interior Design from Brigham Young University, she's a full time mom now. Jaime my oldest son will be graduating this August also from Brigham Young University with his degree in Economics and he plans on attending Law School. His wife, Sheridan will graduate next spring in Bio Chemistry. Jonathan, my youngest is currently working on his bachelors also at Brigham Young and is pursuing a career in the Medical Field.
It's wonderful time when we all get together after a hard school year! We look forward to it so much and my husband and I pretty much drop everything to spend as much time with the family as possible.

Here's a taste of one of the special things I like to do for my family when we are all visiting...

Step 1 : grind some wheat
Step 2 : Mix up all the ingredients and make the doe
Step 3: Let the doe rise
Step 4 : Admire the lovely loaves while they cool :)
Step 5 : Slap on some butter and eat!
YUMMY!
There's nothing like the smell and taste of fresh baked home made bread! The family just gobbles it up and I love to
watch them do it! LOL! Oh yeah, and I have a few slices too :)

Now you know what I'm up to if I haven't posted in a few days :) But no worries, I have a whole bunch of fun projects to share very soon! In fact, tune in tomorrow - I'll be in an Earth Day Hop and I have a GIVEAWAY too!
  Have A Wonderful Day!
P.S. If you like to learn how to make your home bread, send me a message and
I'd be happy to send you some info.

A Little Lemonade

~ Hi Everyone ~
A little sadness...my mom called to let me know that a dear aunt of mine had passed away. She had cancer and her body finally succumbed to that awful disease. She was a bit older than my mom, but had an uncanny resemblance to her.
I made this card yesterday and thought it would be appropriate to post in her honor. I know that death, although so difficult for us that are left behind, is a passing to another life, one that is eternal. I know someday we will be reunited with those loved ones that have gone before us, that gives me so much peace and comfort. The last time I saw her we were all gathered together as a family, laughing and joking. She told us stories of my mom and her growing up in Cuba and I learned a lot about my grandfather. She prepared a delicious cuban meal that we gobbled up with delight. That's what I'll remember. That's my lemonade.

Details :
Card Base sized at 5.5, welded from Elegant Edges Cart
Layer sized at 5.25 from Elegant Edges Cart
Tag sized at 2.25 from Preserves Cart
Lemon and Layers sized at 2.25 from Preserves Cart
extras: Sakura gel pens, black and white, button, twine and bling.

Here's a quick "thank you" project that I whipped up last minute for my friends and neighbors down the street. It literally took me 15 minutes to make. I new I already had some yummy home baked cookies on hand, that I baked that morning. I just need a cute vessel to carry them in. This is probably one of my favorite things about PSA stamps. In no time, you can have a quick card, gift bag etc done with a few punches and their fun designs!
This was my first time making a paper rosette. I think it's a little big, but oh well :)
The stamp is a custom design PSA made up for me.

Surfing on the Brain

~ Hello There ~
I know, I know, another surfing card! I have my reasons, I promise! Here in sunny CA, it actually hasn't been as sunny as we're used for this time of year. But, this past weekend it was SO NICE and warm, everyone was busting about their sundresses, shorts and flip flops! I loved it! It will be so nice when it's warm enough to sit at the beach and maybe even watch my son surf. He usually doesn't ask his parentals to go with him, since he's 21 and all, but maybe we can sneak a peak and he won't even know we are there :)
The snoopy stamps is from PSA's Cowabunga Set and I just love my PSA custom stamp for the back of my cards!

Hang Ten Snoopy

~ Happy Tuesday Everyone ~
I hope everyone is having a great week so far. Today I wanted to share a card I made "totally by hand", no cricut! I know, GASP! But as they say, neccessity is the mother of invention. I wanted to make a surf board shaped card, but I couldn't find any cuts that where "fat" enough to be the right size for a greeting card, so I grabbed the ole' scissors and pencil, drew a surfboard and cut it out! It actually was really nice to feel the scissors do the work for me in my hands. No worries though, I won't be giving up my cricut anytime soon...this was probably just a one time trick.
The cute little stamp is from PSA Essentials "Cowabunga" Set .
Gotta love Snoppy! PSA has a bunch of cute Snoppy stamps sets as well as many others.
Here are just a couple.
