I'm Not Gonna Lie

Hello Again Friends :)
Since starting a new job almost 2 month ago and with all the family activities that have gone on in between, I am having a real hard time figuring out when and where to fit in my crafting time, not to mention my lack of creative mojo! Hence why I haven't posted in almost a month! Wow! Has it been that long?!
It's funny though, because prior to all this, and even when I was going thru all my gallbladder issues, I couldn't get enough of going to my craft room, sometimes multiple times day, whipping up a design, or 2, or 3 and then blogging about it. What a difference it has been for me to work for someone else than to work for myself in my prior job as a hair stylist. Don't get me wrong though, I love my new job as a medical assistant, I just need to figure all this out!
Any advise out there ?
In the meantime, here's card a made along time ago that I don't think I've posted yet :)

  3. Alex, Life does get hectic. I had my gall bladder out too and when you don't feel good you just don't want to do anything. The summer is such a busy time anyway with family and friends, then starting a new job know wonder you don't have time. It will come back just hang in there. I am a hairdresser myself the economy is so bad now people just aren't getting their hair done like before. I wish I could find some other type of job although I was a late in life hairdresser just for 9 years now. LOL It was fun at the beginning now it's just not the same, we moved and lost a lot of customers as you know they go elsewhere. Any way take care, Phyllis

  5. Hi Alex, I missed you! Your card is super cute:) You have a lot on your plate. Starting a new job takes a lot of adjusting to. Just be patient and get plenty of rest. Maybe you can start crafting a little bit at night before you go to bed. I know that it helps for me to set a schedule...like I say ok every other day at 9:00 I am going to excersise for a 1/2 hour. Maybe you could do that with your crafting. I hope you start blogging again soon, I am sure that I am not the only one who misses you.

  6. We definitely have missed you. But I think all of us gets those times in life, when other things take priority. You have a job, a son recently home from a mission and a lot of good things going on right now. When the time is right you will get your creative mojo back and we will all be happy to see what you have to share. Until then enjoy :). Oh yes, and this card is SUPER sweet!

  8. My advise is to start small, just like when you first started. Do a card a week if that's what you can get to. Make the time when you can and do a little at a time...that's the beauty of paper crafts, it's patient. :)

  10. I don't have any advice about your situation exactly... I just know from past experience that it will all work itself out and you will find the balance that you are looking for so that you can find the time to craft. As far as not feeling the mojo... I think that happens to all of us. I know that it used to happen to me more often than not. Having the Blog and papercraft swap group pushes me to be motivated and I like that. Give yourself a break and don't stress on it... It will just happen.

    Take Care~ Sherry

  11. Total bummer that work has sapped you of your creative drive, but I'm sure once you get adjusted to the new routine you'll be back in the swing of things. Can't wait to see what you make when the mojo returns.

  13. Aww at times I feel the same way. I am a full time worker and have 3 little ones to come home to every evening. It's not easy, but I take it one day at a time. I create when I have the chance to, no rush. I've missed you though. Hope that mojo comes back soon.

  14. Hang in there. When I was working as an ophthalmic technician, I literally walked in the door and turned on the stove to cook. It was hard to find time to clean and wash clothes much less to do something like crafting. So I understand. You'll work it out. You'll get in a groove. Smiles, :) Janis P.S. Such a cutie patootie card!

  15. Hi Alex~ I can understand this post all too well. Just recently I had encountered a similar situation with respect to the creative mojo. Knowing you, this will pass & we will be seeing beautiful creations real soon. Just allow yourself a little bit of a breather.
Blogland followers will understand. I think we have all been there.
I hope you are well. I will tune again sometime soon. In the meantime, take care!
