More Nikki Sivils

 ~ Hello Again Everyone ~

I have another fun project for you today! Since my last "purse" card, I sort have had "purses" on the brain. I've also been wanting to try this accordion technique with ribbon, so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity.

The blue basket weave paper is from Nikki Sivils "Blue Berry Hill Blue Berry Party Line". The purse cut is from the Forever Young Cart and the cherry cut is from the From My Kitchen cart. The ribbon is from Micheals and I just used some simple inexpensive glitter and a cute button to finish it off.

Nikki has generously donated an awesome paper pack and embellishments that I'll be giving away at the end of the week.

Remember my husband's bicycled themed banner I made just a few days ago HERE? Well, I made a fun card to match and I was determined to incorporate polka dots in it! Not an easy thing to do for a guy card, but I think I pulled it off...

Fun right?! He really liked it :) Mission accomplished :)

The Luck 'O the Irish

Top 'O the Morning to Ya! and Happy St Patty's Day!
I wish I knew more Irish lingo, it sounds so happy and peppy!
The "Luck O' the Irish" must be with you today, as you've arrived at what is sure to be a "blarney of a good hop"! Brynn of "Frail and Frills" is our host today so, make sure you've begun your journey there so you don't miss a "green" thing!
I had so much fun making my project today so let's get right to it! I've seen this "rag garland" a few times on the net and I'd been looking for the perfect occasion to make it!
Well, let me just say...this is my first rag garland, BUT it won't be my last! I LOVE how it turned it!
Want to make one of your own? First get a bunch of scrap fabric ~ I have alot!
Cut them into randon strips about 1" x 5".
Don't measure - just eyeball it.
Get some string, and tie on each strip close together, until you get a nice full garland the length you like:)
Add some fun cricut cuts to match the festivities and
Wha-la...rag garland!
You like ?! Leave me a comment to let me know :)

Can't have a hop with out BLOG CANDY! Thanks you to Robyn at My Pink Stamper for sponsoring my giveaway today!

Yup, my hubby and I are empty nesters and all the adult kiddos are either pursuing under grad or post graduate degrees there. My daughter already has hers and is now a stay at home mom. A Bird in Snowy Salt Lake City and A Smokin Deal

~ Hi Everyone ~
Right now I'm sitting with my little grandson and teaching him how "Mimi" Blogs (he calls me Mimi).  We woke up to over a foot of snowy whiteness this morning! Well, there was only one thing to do...BUILD A SNOWMAN...we're both pretty proud of the little fella...we named him Nash!...What do you think?

Before I boarded my plane for Utah, I was able to whip this cute little birdie card. I just loved the retro look of the paper. So I set out to create a card that looked like it might have been found at your local thrift store or consignment shop. My daughter loves retro so this card is for her :)

I used with this coordinating paper which I thought would be perfect to finish off the inside. Both the outside and inside sentiment are from My Pink Stamper! I just love her stamps!

I'll be back from my trip in just a few days! My daughter and her little family will be coming back with me to begin putting together my DH surprise birthday party. He doesn't even know they are coming!

Guy's Birthday Set

~ Hello Friday Everyone  ~
Today I wanted to give you some ideas on how to add a little splash to a "GUY's" Birthday! Most of us have trouble coming up with projects for the male gender, especially if it's a mature guy. But I have found that it is actually pretty easy. Give me the right paper for inspiration, a few cricut cuts, and a masculine color palette, and you actually can come up with a project pretty quickly and easily. No need for too much fluff, as most guys aren't into that and wha-la! Here 's a quick banner and gift bag I came up with for a dear friends birthday! I won't tell you how old he is, just is case his wife peeks at my blog, but let's just say he definitely  falls into the "mature man"category, hehe :)
All of this took me less than and hour to whip up, thanks to that marvelous cart "Birthday Bash" ! A little argyle goes along way!

OOPS! I almost forgot ! I've been so busy getting ready for my out of town trip to visit my kids and grandpeeps...I almost forgot to pick the winner of  my last giveaway!

Drum roll, please...The Winner of my fav is...
